Thousands of flavours of the great greek gastronomy at center stage in TUTTOFOOD 2017

Scents from the sea, wine bouquets, tastes of olives, cheeses, and recipes from an ancient tradition: Mediterranean flavours of the best from the great Greek gastronomy are poised to pleasanty invade Hall 6 at the fieramilano fairgrounds during TUTTOFOOD 2017, the Milano World Food Exhibition, from Monday 8 through Thursday 11 May, thanks to a particularly numerous participation of Hellenic exhibitors.

The famous Greek olives and olive oils will be represented by four brands of excellence with such products as, just to name a few, the Kalliston EVO by Hermes; Anthia’s PDO oils and vinegars by Pelasgaea; Sativa with its green and Kalamata olives; Terra Creta whose offer includes an organic EVOs.

Equally enticing is the milk and dairy offer. Besides Feta, Greece is famous for many other specialties that make her rank third in Europe as to the number of PDO cheeses: at TUTTOFOOD 2017, visitors will get to know Avigal, presenting the two brands Panteli and Peloponissos; Eurofood Quality SA, that produces typical sheep and goat cheeses at Kastoria and Crete; Karalis SA, which is famous for its per la PDO Barrel Feta; Kirkeby Cheese Export A/S, an exporter of typical white cheeses such as Tsopanos; and Paraskevi Pagoni – Gyparaki Sole Shareholder Ltd with its Cretan specialties.

As to fish, no need to remind that the Aegean is one of the world’s richest seas in fish –and therefore fish is among the undisputed protagonists of the Greek cuisine: at the exhibition, this will be confirmed by displays like the Mytilos seafood by AegeanGourmet and quality frozen foods by Savramis & Co Ltd.

Moreover, buyers will find products that can meet the needs of their ‘foodiest’ clients with the deli offer from companies representative of the vast array of Greek cuisine, as unique as the country’s hospitality: for instance, the avocado-based products by Avoel; high-quality bottarga by Trikalinos SA; and again, delicious antipasti from Frescado SA; and Filema Rodion with its Melekouni typical sesame bars from Rhode. Today, tasty tapas from the Greek tradition travel all over the world also as canned products, like those presented by Zanae SA; among mixed products, traditional flavours of Bonita Appetizers SA stand out with the famous gyros and the other meats by Kasidis SA to end the honeys and honey-based products from Melissokomiki Dodecanese.

These include The Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Dodecanese and The Chania Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Crete); la Region of South Aegean – an archipelago of 34 isles that will be the European Gastronomy Region in 2019 –; the Chef’s Club Dodecanese’s & Cyclades. Beyond booths, tastings will also be held at the Greek Pavilion at Hall 6, G02A/F07A, F02/E07 and E02. Moreover, Italian and international top buyers will enjoy the opportunity to taste the best of Greek foods at the exclusive Buyers’ Lounge on Monday 8 May.
