The first fam trip for People with Disabilities in Greece took place in Attica, Argolida and Crete with great success from 19 to 28 April 2024.
The action is another initiative of the Ministry of Tourism, in cooperation with the Hellenic Tourism Organisation and the Region of Crete, in the context of the implementation of the Annual Action Plan 2024 of the Ministry of Tourism, which includes, among other things, the “Protection of the Rights of Disabled People” as a separate section.
Through this action, Greece is promoted in the USA as a tourist destination that supports equality and inclusion.
The American university professor and columnist Ellen Stohl and her companions who attended the event had the best impressions of their stay in our country.
An article by Ms. Stohl on accessibility and infrastructure for people with mobility problems in Greek destinations will be published in the autumn issue of the American magazine “New Mobility Magazine”, which specializes in quality of life issues for people in wheelchairs.
