AEGEAN informing its passengers for their travel arrangements following the new national travel restrictions announced

AIR NEWS TRAVEL

Following yesterday’s announcements for a 2nd national lockdown and the relevant travel restrictions effective as of Saturday 7/11 at 06.00 and up until 30/11, AEGEAN informs its passengers that in order to ensure their timely and smooth adjustment to the new travel conditions it will not proceed to any cancelations or changes in any of its scheduled flights, both for the domestic and the international network neither on Saturday November 7, nor on Sunday November 8, or on Monday November 9.

All passengers who hold tickets with a travel date throughout the entire lockdown period, ie from 7/11 until 30/11, are able to change their tickets for another date either during the lockdown or for any travel date, with no rebooking fee. Changes can be made directly through AEGEAN’s website or through their travel agency.

As of November 10th and up until November 30th during which the restrictive measures will remain effective, the company may proceed with further adjustments of its domestic and international network.

With regards domestic and international travel passengers are to follow the following directions.

Domestic Flights: Traveling to domestic destinations and outside the boundaries of each prefecture is allowed to passengers for business purposes, for imperative family reasons, return to permanent residence or for health reasons (essential travel) and with an accompanying travel certificate describing the reason of their movement.

International Flights: Following instructions of the competent authorities, as from 11/11/2020, all passengers entering the country must have a negative PCR COVID-19 test, 72 hours prior their flight. As of the same date both incoming and outgoing passengers must have completed the PLF (Passenger Locator Form) at least 24 hours before the flight.

Given the above mentioned restrictions and unlike the first national lockdown of last spring AEGEAN this time will maintain its domestic and most of its international network, by proceeding to relevant adjustments on frequencies subject to the new travel limitations.

Passengers are also informed that as of next week AEGEANs network from Thessaloniki to Germany and Cyprus, which was temporary suspended, will be restored. As travel restrictions and prohibitions between countries are constantly changing, passengers are kindly advised to check for any new changes at www.aegeanair.com.

AEGEAN CEO, Dimitris Gerogiannis said: “AEGEAN will make every effort, given the circumstances, to maintain the connectivity within our country and especially among the island destinations as well as abroad. Our priority remains the protection of the health and the well-being of our passengers and crew. This time we have not only accumulated the experience from the management of the previous period, but also as we have more protective tools than in the first lockdown. Both in pre-flight procedures, such as PCR tests for incoming visitors from abroad, as well as during in-flight that have been proven to be effective (such as protective measures, HEPA filters etc). The situation is very difficult, but we will once again do what is possible to offer our passengers the best service possible“.

Passengers are advised to visit AEGEAN’s official website www.aegeanair.com as all related information are also available online.
