ALLTOURS: Making sense of the 60s generation programme

BUSINESS TOURISM

Reference to the characteristics of the 60-plus generation, who are enthusiastic travellers, active in sport and interested in culture. At the same time, there is an expansion of the long-distance and long-distance travel programme. The adults-only hotels are expanding and demand is rising, while the city travel programme is becoming increasingly popular.

“The 60-plus generation still wants to fulfil many long-awaited travel wishes, seeks a diverse mix of culture, service and relaxation on holiday and does not skimp on its holiday trips. For this generation, travelling is simply part of their quality of life. 80 is yesterday’s 60,” says Willi Verhuven, owner and managing partner of the alltours group of companies.

Extending the offer for long-distance travel

The demand for long-haul holidays for the coming winter continues unabated. A big part of this is due to the group of best agers, who want to fulfill many travel dreams and are no longer traveling with children. Alltours has therefore further expanded its portfolio of long-haul holidays and significantly increased its flight and hotel offerings for trips to dream destinations in the Indian Ocean (Mauritius, Maldives, Seychelles), Africa (Kenya, Zanzibar, Cape Verde), Asia (Thailand, Indonesia) and the Caribbean (Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Curaçao).

Rising demand for long-stay holidays

Long-term holidays are becoming increasingly popular, especially among the 60-plus target group. When choosing a holiday destination, the weather and tourist infrastructure play a decisive role. Other important factors are the cultural and gastronomic offerings as well as shopping and excursion options. Hotels and resorts that offer sports, wellness, fitness and entertainment facilities are particularly popular.

The classic and most popular destinations for long-term stays with alltours include Mallorca, the Canary Islands and Turkey. Many hotels cater to the wishes of long-stay guests with an appropriate range of sports, entertainment and excursions.

Long-term holidaymakers receive additional discounts at alltours for many hotels for stays of 21 days or more, which can vary depending on the region, hotel and time of travel. Together with the early booking discount, savings of up to 50 per cent are possible. Αlltours has included further long-term offers in its programme for many destinations. The offers range from flats to all-inclusive options. Alltours customers can enquire about and book long-term stays via their travel agency or the Αlltours Service Centre.

Expanded range of high-quality adults-only hotels

The children have left home and are travelling on their own. Now is the time when many best agers want to enjoy the tranquillity and exclusivity of an adults-only hotel. In this segment, the focus is on relaxation, comfort and wellness, often combined with the demand for high-quality catering. Sports and fitness facilities are also an important criteria when choosing a hotel. Αlltours has therefore once again expanded its range of Adults Only hotels, particularly in the premium segment.

New additions include Adults Only hotels in Thailand, the Maldives and the Dominican Republic.

City and round trip programme expanded

Demand for short trips to Paris, Amsterdam, Prague and Berlin, among others, will remain unchanged in the coming winter. “The 60-plus generation in particular loves to go on spontaneous short trips to major European cities with good transport connections. We are continuously developing our city trip programme accordingly and also testing new regions and cities,” says Verhuven.

While families with children prefer beach holidays, Αlltours is seeing growing interest in round trips with a cultural focus and flexible combination options among the 60-plus age group. For the coming winter, alltours has expanded its programme with new round trips to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Thailand and Indonesia.

Special offers for best agers

At alltours, best agers benefit from special offers in many hotels. In many places, single travellers receive a single room at no extra charge or a double room for single use.

“Enabling our customers to enjoy a high-quality holiday with excellent value for money is our core competence. Building on this, we have further optimised our programme for the coming winter with a view to the interests of the growing 60-plus target group. The strength of our new winter programme is the variety of offers, with special deals for the specific interests of different travellers,” says Verhuven.
