A surprise winner in Spain, top place in Greece for Kos and familiar names in Turkey were the highlights of the latest fortnightly fvw Hotelometer rankings.
The Aparthotel Protur Floriana Resort in Cala Bona on the east coast of Majorca surged no fewer than six places to top the Spanish ranking, the demand-based fortnightly ranking of the most popular tourist hotels in Turkey, Spain and Greece among German consumers showed. The Lopesan Costa Meloneras dropped back to second place followed by the Iberostar Club Cala Barca. Another high-riser was the Prinsotel La Pineda in Cala Ratjada, which entered the top ten ranking for the fortnight from May 30 to June 12 in fourth place.
In Greece, hotels on Kos were again among the clear winners. The Horizon Beach Resort in Mastichari jumped from fifth place to first place, ahead of the Pilot Beach Resort and the Atrium Palace. Three other Kos hotels were also ranked in the top ten. The Princess of Kos rose to fourth, the Euro Village Achilleas entered the ranking in fifth place and the Neptune Hotel was ninth.
In Turkey, the Royal Dragon regained top spot from the Side Breeze while the Miracle Resort in Lara rose to third place. There were three new names in the top ten, all of them in Side: the J’Adore Deluxe, the Side Charme Crown Palace and the Sun Connect Sea World.
The fvw Hotelometer is a fortnightly ranking of the most popular tourist hotels in Turkey, Spain and Greece, showing customer enquiries but not actual bookings. It is based on all enquiries in the Traveltainment reservations system used by German travel agents and online booking engines. The data, supplied by IT company TrevoTrend, is split into different categories (overall, families, couples, singles and star ratings).
