Global DMC Partners, the largest global network of destination management companies (DMCs) has unveiled the Global Destination Index 2024, highlighting the most popular meeting and event destinations around the world. Among them, Athens is ranked 6th and many islands of Greece are included.
Global DMC Partners’ destination list was based on the planning and Request for Proposal received for projects implemented in 2024 in the DMC Partners network and Athens is ranked 6th on the list of the top 10 international conference and incentive destinations.
Top 10 International destinations are:
- Paris, France
- Barcelona, Spain
- Amsterdam, Netherlands
- London, England
- Lisbon, Portugal
- Athens, Greece
- Madrid, Spain
- Vienna, Austria
- Rome, Italy
- Berlin, Germany
Additional top 7 secondary destinations include:
- Japan
- Hawaii
- Costa Rica
- Saint Lucia
- Emilia-Romagna Region in Italy (Bologna, Parma and Modena)
- Greek Islands including Corfu, Aegina and Milos
- Midwestern U.S. cities such as Minneapolis, Kansas City and Louisville
“It’s interesting to see the new destinations that have made this year’s list, as well as the changing order in popularity of the top 10, particularly as our industry is a great indicator of the world’s economic strength and where the most business is being done,” said Global DMC Partners President and CEO Catherine Chaulet.
