Business travel was ‘largely unaffected’ by the Paris terrorist attacks, according to two new polls.
Research by the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) and its European partners found that more than 90% of US and European business travel buyers said travel was largely unaffected by the terrorism.
It also found that travellers became more resilient as time went on with 90% of European travel buyers now believing travel should continue as normal compared with 79% in the days following the attacks.
“Business travel to and within Europe continues to show its resiliency,” said Michael McCormick, GBTA Executive Director and COO.
“The fact is that we’ve reached a new normal in managing risk, and business travel buyers are taking steps in their travel programmes to improve communication, put in place duty of care policies and improve safety and security of travellers.
Around 40% of travel buyers have issued alerts to travellers on how to respond to emergency situations, while 22%) have taken steps to enhance safety and security for travellers going to all destinations.
