-The beachfront resort will debut this summer in the Mediterranean’s prime sustainable destination

Costa Navarino, the prime sustainable destination in the southwest Peloponnese, will expand its offering with the arrival of Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino this summer. The luxury resort will bring Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s unparalleled hospitality to Greece for the first time. This beachfront retreat is nestled amidst a breathtaking landscape in Navarino Bay, affording unparalleled views of the surrounding countryside and the historic bay of Navarino.

Design and interiors

Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino features 99 suites and earth-sheltered villas with private pools and spacious terraces. The property’s design has been inspired from the local architectural heritage.

The resort’s interiors embrace the natural beauty of Messinia, with accents featuring local plants, earthy undertones, and gentle splashes of color.  The decor celebrates aspects of 19th-century Greek design and reflects the surrounding historical sites, providing the inspiration for motifs and wood carvings. A natural, terracotta color palette creates a soothing and welcoming environment with custom-designed furniture, floor-to-ceiling windows, and state-of-the-art entertainment technology. Rugs in the suites and villas are also inspired by the weaving of traditional Greek dress.

Aligned with Costa Navarino’s sustainable development principles, the Navarino Bay site features 2,700 replanted olive trees and over 500,000 planted native shrubs. The resort was built according to Costa Navarino’s rigorous environmental specifications, keeping with Mandarin Oriental’s deeply ingrained corporate responsibility ethos. The resort also features earth-sheltered villas blending into the natural topography of the land and utilizes local materials. As with all Mandarin Oriental hotels, it will be single use plastic free throughout the complex.

Dining Concepts

Creative, exciting and delicious dining is a key feature of the resort experience. The five restaurants and bars redefine authentic Greek traditions, that honor local culture while also providing a wide variety of original flavors from international cuisines. The resort’s chefs are committed to sourcing local ingredients from Messinia and delivering a unique gastronomic experience overseen by Chef Bertrand Valegeas.
