Dutch want to go to Greece this summer for their holidays. From an online survey of Griekenland.net it appears that 73% still have plans to travel to the Greek islands or mainland. Covid-19 restrictions cause for a delay in bookings this summer. In total 1.767 visitors of the leading online portal for holidays to Greece in The Netherlands recently voted.

To 20 Greek airports in 2019

In 2019, before Corona, flights from April until October from The Netherlands were offered to twenty different Greek airports. Crete was favorite at that time by the Dutch, but also Kos, Zakynthos and Rhodes are normally popular. New cases of Covid-19 in The Netherlands are descending rapidly daily and more than 10 million vaccinations have been made sofar, according to the coronadashboard of the Dutch government.

Dutch love Greek hospitality

Dutch love Greek hospitality and enjoy traditional and new Greek cuisine during their holidays. The Greek climate in summer attracts them to relax and enjoy long and warm days at the Greek beaches. On destinations Dutch travelers prefer a boulevard for a walk with taverns, bars and shops. In last years’ poll from Griekenland.net, what Dutch like about Greece, 36% voted for Greek hospitality as number one. Also sun, sea and Greek beaches (16%) and the Greek gastronomy (16%) are popular.
