ΕasyJet cabin crew will receive a 20% basic pay increase from 1 May 2024, according to their union Unite.
Unite tried hard and long to secure a long term deal with the airline and eventually signed an 18-month agreement with EasyJet, which confirmed that the airline’s crew would receive an extra 3% per flight.
In addition to the pay rise, cabin managers – and probationary cabin managers – will receive a one off payment of £2,000. Cabin crew flight attendants will get £1,500.
In addition to an increase in wages, the airline will now pay £15 to all cabin crew on board when a service is disrupted by over an hour. If a delay exceeds 120 minutes, the payment will double.
Unite general secretary, Sharon Graham, said: “Unite is steadfast in its mission to secure better pay, jobs and conditions and It it is excellent that our hard working members at easyJet receive a historic pay increase due to Unite.”
The complex payment structure of cabin crew means salaries change depending on routes and base location. Variable pay refers to a flight payment – that individuals receive per journey. The further the flight, the more money cabin crew receive.
Lindsey Olliver, regional officer at Unite said: “Through the union’s collective strength and solid negotiations, we have achieved a significant pay increase for our members. Cabin crew are an integral part of easyJet’s operations, and this deal recognises their value.”
