The Hellenic Investment and Foreign Trade Company (Enterprise Greece) participated for the first time in the Future Hospitality Summit (FHS) 2024, which was held in Dubai, from 30 September to 2 October 2024, with the main objective of promoting Greece as a leading destination for investment in the hospitality and tourism sector.

Through its presence at the conference, Enterprise Greece sought to strengthen international partnerships and attract investors interested in developing business activities in Greece, especially in the hotel industry and tourism product sectors.

Enterprise Greece had a special area for the promotion of Greece in a leading position in the exhibition area of the conference, where it was possible to hold meetings and present the opportunities offered by the Greek market for the development of new projects and the exploitation of the potential of the sector. In this context, a series of private meetings were held with companies mainly from the United Arab Emirates, America, Germany, Spain and France.

This year’s conference attracted more than 1,600 participants from 60 countries and showcased many exciting new initiatives and partnerships. The Branded Residences Forum, a one-day exclusive event organised by Accor One Living in partnership with FHS World, focused on the thriving branded residential sector, which is experiencing a period of unprecedented growth globally. According to organisers, it has grown more than 160% over the past decade with around 1,300 branded residential projects worldwide. This sector is expected to experience strong growth in Greece in the coming years, due to the increased demand for luxury residences that combine high quality services and amenities with management by internationally recognized hotel brands.

Also, for the first time, FHS World hosted the semi-finals of UN Tourism’s Women in Tech startup competition, showcasing innovative solutions from women-led tech startups. The #FHSWomenPower initiative prompted the participation of over 550 women from the hospitality business world.

The CEO of Enterprise Greece, Dr. Marinos Giannopoulos, participated in a panel entitled: “European Hospitality Revival: Creating Investment Opportunities in Mature Markets”, where investment trends in the hospitality sector were discussed, especially with regard to luxury, mid-range and economy hotel segments in both cities and island destinations, as well as trends for the future. Dr. Marinos Giannopoulos also referred to the factors that drive investment interest in Greece and what new opportunities are emerging for investors in the hospitality sector in the country, with a parallel reference to the palette of investment incentives that are currently available.
