-The new joint campaign promotes our country as a viable holiday destination in the Australian and UK markets
The Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT) and Mastercard, continue their dynamic collaboration to promote Greece with a new joint communication campaign, with the main objective of promoting the country as a sustainable tourism destination and an ideal choice for holidays. Targeting the markets of Australia and the United Kingdom, the new campaign highlights the Greek tourism product for four months among travellers from these countries.
The central vehicle of the campaign is the website sustainability.visitgreece.gr through which visitors are invited to discover, care for and preserve the hidden beauties of Greece, having the opportunity to participate in a series of priceless experiences, specially designed exclusively for Mastercard® cardholders.
To this end, EOT and Mastercard have created ten experiences that span from Athens to Paxos, and from Trikala to Astypalaea and Tilos. These experiences invite visitors to discover the rich seabed of the Greek islands, to be introduced to local gastronomy, to learn about traditions, culture and history through art, and to get close to the Greek countryside through activities such as cycling, hiking and kayaking.
The campaign used modern digital tools to promote experiences and tourism activities through selected channels such as Display, Video, Google Search, Native Ads and social networks, thus ensuring the broad and targeted promotion of Greece as a leading and sustainable tourist destination.
Dimitris Fragakis , Secretary General of EOT, said: “We are evolving our strategic partnership with Mastercard with our joint campaign focusing on the experiences our visitors can have in Greece. At EOT we are firmly committed to the principles of sustainability by enhancing the competitiveness of Greek tourism internationally. Mastercard is a valuable assistant in this effort, so I thank its executives for their trust and good cooperation.”
Panagiotis Polidoros, Mastercard Country Manager for Greece, Cyprus and Malta, said: “Supporting Greek tourism remains a strategic priority for us, which we have been working consistently for several years. We are proud that our cooperation with the Hellenic Tourism Organisation continues to evolve, aiming at the substantial upgrading of the country’s tourism product. In this context, we have proceeded to design experiences that will add value to our visitors’ holidays, further strengthening the objective of our joint campaign.”
