According to the ferry company DFDS and Google searches for more than 200 different cities in Europe, the 10 most popular destinations for this winter include. Salzburg with its snow-covered Alps takes the lead, although demand for the rest of Austria has risen to 13% compared to previous figures.
Vienna was also in the top three, with a 71% increase in searches, but Spain also ranked well, with four of its destinations included (Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Barcelona and Tenerife).
This winter, searches are turning more to city destinations than ski resorts.
