According to HolidayCheck figures, tourism in Cyprus had a 15% revenue increase and a 9% booking increase by German-speaking markets in 2018, compared to 2017.
More analytically, revenue amounted to €11.2 million, from 5.471 bookings, and the number of overnights increased by 8%, therefore it is concluded that the prices of Cypriot hotels increased in 2018.
In terms of destinations, Ayia Napa reported the greatest revenue increase by 20%, amounted to €3.7 million, and it was the most attractive destination in Cyprus. Protaras and Paphos had also an increase, while Limassol -which is generally not preferred by Germans-showed a decrease.

Regarding the developments during the last 6 years about holiday bookings in Cyprus by German-speaking markets, 2018 was the best year, followed by 2017.
