The bookings for Greece in the last week of the year increased by 11%, while on a 12-month basis they have risen by 6%.
We also publish bookings data since 2013, in order to reach the right conclusions.
More specifically, on December 30, 2018, bookings for Greece amounted to 54.843€, compared to 51.915€ in 2017, showing an increase of 6%, with total revenue of €113 million, compared to €105.4 in 2017, showing an increase of 7%. Moreover, the overnights increased by 2% and reached 495.615. These figures show a price rise in Greek hotels.
The last week
At the same time, in the last week of the year and during Christmas holidays, the bookings for Greece increased significantly by 11%. Spain also showed a considerable increase, Turkey increased its bookings by 60% starting from low level, and Egypt increased by 16%.
On the contrary, Portugal showed a decrease in the number of bookings by 10%, Bulgaria by 21%, and Italy by 1%.

Developments 2013-2018
The developments over the last 6 years regarding holiday bookings in Greece by German-speaking markets, reveal that 2017 was the best year with 59.799 bookings, followed by 2018.
Regarding the revenue, 2017 was the best year with €122.3 million, followed by 2018 with €113.11 million. However, it is highlighted that in 2013 the revenue was only €49.4 million…
