Greece was named the Best Tourism Destination internationally for the fifth consecutive year in the 2025 GT Tested Reader Survey Awards, held by the top travel magazine Global Traveler.
The award, which Greece has been winning since 2021, confirms the dynamism of Greek tourism in the highly demanding American tourist market.
In the same category, Ireland came in second, and Spain third.
For the 22nd consecutive year, Global Traveler conducted the GT Tested Reader Survey, asking frequent, luxury travelers to declare their preferences in more than 80 travel-related categories, such as favorite destinations around the world, airlines, airports, hotels, travel/tourism service providers, and more.
This year’s survey was conducted from December 12, 2024, to August 31, 2025, and more than 22,000 readers participated.

This year’s winners will be honored at a special event on December 17 at the Loews Coral Gables in Miami. At the event, the winners of the Wines on the Wing survey for airlines, announced in August 2025, will also be honored.
