Greece – GNTO: “Gold” winners at the American tourism awards Travvy Awards 2024

ORGANIZATIONS

Greece and GNTO received top honours during the 10th edition of the annual American tourism awards Travvy Awards 2024.

Specifically, our country won the gold award in the categories:

  • “Best Destination in Europe ” (Best Destination – Europe),
  • “Best Destination in the Mediterranean ” (Best Destination – Mediterranean), and
  • “Best Cruise Dest ination –Europe ” (Best Cruise Destination – Europe).

At the same time, the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) received a gold award as the “Best Tourism Board – Europe “.

Each year, the Travvy Awards reward the best suppliers, destinations, technology providers, attractions, airlines, cruise lines and more, as selected by US travel agents. More than 200,000 U.S. travel agency executives participated in this year’s voting, registering their selections through Agent@Home magazine and the TravelPulse.com website.

The award ceremony took place on Friday 7 November at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, while the Greek awards were received by the Head of the North American EOT Service, Konstantinos Harokopos, the Deputy Head, Yannis Plexousakis, and Faye Georgousi, from the same EOT Service.

Travel Weekly’s Cruise World workshop

The presentation of the Travvy Awards 2024 took place at Travel Weekly’s annual workshop of NorthStar Travel Group’s Cruise World, which was held from November 6 to 8 at the same venue, with the participation of the North American EOT North America.

NorthStar Travel Media Group is a leading B2B company in the travel industry, offering a wide range of services, including event planning, creating special digital publications, data analytics and customized marketing solutions to a multitude of travel industry players.

Travel Weekly’s Cruise World Workshop focuses on networking events and Exhibitor Showcases in the cruise industry. This year more than 300 exhibitors participated, including cruise lines (MSC, Royal Caribbean, Celestyal), airlines (American Airlines and United Airlines) and national tourism organizations from Greece, Israel, Croatia, Malta, Australia and Latin American countries.
