Hotel Grande Bretagne lights up the Christmas Tree

The Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens lighted up its glorious Christmas tree on Friday, December 3rd within the overwhelming Christmas spirit of the historic hotel. The lightning event, which took place without the presence of beloved friends and associates, launched the festive season for this year!

The stunning, 7-meter tall Christmas tree stands glowing in the lobby of Hotel Grande Bretagne. Impressive Christmas decoration all around, glittering garlands, intricate ornaments and more than 20,000 lights create a unique festive background. Although this time it might have been impossible to gather all dear guests around the tree and listen to the Christmas carols performance by the children’s choir, the lighting ceremony retained its charitable purpose whatsoever. Being part of a socially responsible company, Hotel Grande Bretagne continues its special fund raising campaign standing by “THE ARK OF THE WORLD”, a voluntary non-profit organization of mother and child protection. For the last 23 years, Father Antonios has been striving to help young unprotected children, who experience difficult circumstances, neglect, abandonment, lack of medical care and uncertain future.

From December 4th and for six months, €1.50 will be added to each receipt issued at the hotel’s restaurants with the customers’ consent and will be donated to support “THE ARK OF THE WORLD” in its pioneering work.

In the following video, young Helen from “THE ARK OF THE WORLD”, filled with faith, love and hope, magically lights up the Christmas tree and our hearts:
