Launch of Indian Oberoi Hotels & Resorts in London

Oberoi Hotels & Resorts will launch in London by the end of 2027 due to an agreement between property developer Grosvenor, based in the British capital, and EIH London Investments Ltd., Oberoi’s parent company, to participate in a $500 million redevelopment project in South Molton, in London’s Mayfair district. and the “arrival” of the Indian luxury hotel brand in the British market.

The £500 million South Molton project includes the creation of an Oberoi hotel, on the corner at 40-46 Brook Street, with work scheduled to begin in 2025, office buildings on Brook Street and Davies Street, residences, cafes and restaurants, shops, as well as public and leisure areas.

Grosvenor secured planning permission to restore the 33,000-square-foot listed building in 2022, as part of South Molton’s wider development. This landmark project, currently the largest mixed-use development in the West End, will serve as a new gateway to Mayfair, attracting an estimated expenditure of £6.5 million per year. At the same time, 1,000 permanent jobs will be created, as well as 450 jobs and apprenticeships during the construction phase.
