The MarBella Collection is delighted to announce its re-opening for summer 2020. From 4th July, the award-winning MarBella Corfu will be the first 5* property in Corfu to open its doors to guests for the summer season – in one of Europe’s least affected countries by Covid-19 and under 10km away from one of the continent’s safest beaches.
As part of their new ‘We Care Health and Safety Protocol’, the brand is proud to offer all guests, partners, and the surrounding local community a fully certified, clean, and secure environment. With hygiene and wellbeing as a priority, the MarBella Collection is re-opening with confidence in providing a fulfilling and rewarding experience, which has been desired throughout days of isolation and lockdown. New and enriched experiences will be on offer including tailored beach picnics and outdoor cinema screenings – enabling social distancing. Exuding an aura of serenity and natural beauty, the hotel, surrounding olive groves, beaches and cobalt blue Ionian Sea are waiting to welcome back visitors.
To ensure the safety of guests and staff, key health and safety protocols and preventions have been put in place in order to offer a hassle‑free enjoyable holiday to guests during their stay. With over 50 years of superb service, dedication and personalised care, the wellbeing of guests, citizens and staff has always been the MarBella Collection’s top priority. The luxury hotel group has now taken further measures to also ensure that these new safety regulations do not detract from the brand’s promise to offer sensational experiences to all new and returning guests, at every stage in life.
MarBella Collection’s ‘We Care Health & Safety Protocol’
MarBella Collection’s ‘We Care Health & Safety Protocol’ has been carefully designed together with Priority Hellas and Diversey and accredited to the highest standards. These new health and safety implementations reflect the protocols set up by the Greek government, European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control and WHO and all international hygiene measures are fully compliant with ISO 22000 & ISO 14001.
Governed by an innovative spirit, the hotel group has appointed ‘MarBella Collection Wellness Ambassadors’ who will be at guests’ disposal throughout their holiday to advise on health and sanitisation methods. A broad range of contactless services and interactions are encouraged through the latest upgrade of MarBella Collection’s Mobile App, whilst simultaneously enriching the guest experience. The App is free to use and contains relevant information on all aspects of the hotel. Guests will be able to utilise this app to check in and out – and will notice that these timings have been extended for guest’s convenience.
There will be a hotel doctor on call 24/7 to provide special care for guests should they need it during their stay. Furthermore, all staff will be provided with training from a certified external organisation on COVID-19 prevention and protection methods, appropriate use of personal protective equipment, action plans and emergencies. All staff will also be provided with appropriate personal protection equipment.
All common areas and accommodation will be regularly sanitised and disinfected by an expert third party company and guests will have access to hygiene stations in all public areas including lifts, restaurants, and public toilets. Guestrooms will be cleaned and disinfected with Diversey certified products and will come fully required with a hygienic kit, antibacterial wipes, and a sealed mask for each guest. The design and layout of the hotels will also be amended to ensure that the furniture across the properties complies with social distancing regulations of at least 2 metres. Furthermore, transfers will only be arranged with partners who comply with the hotel’s hygiene standards – which will implement a limited number of passengers, all of whom must be part of the same room or suite.
Adaptation of Hotel Services & New Offerings
Hotel services and guest experiences have been adapted to allow an enjoyable, authentic experience whilst also being mindful of ensuring the health and hygiene of all guests and staff. MarBella Corfu has designed adults-only areas at the beach and pools ensuring a relaxing and socially distanced experience. The property will also be offering live music nights and outdoor stargazing and cinema screenings for the whole family along. More active guests will be able to book and enjoy tennis, football, trekking and Stand Up Paddle Boarding safaris. Families will also have access to the Worldwide Kids Club, which will now take place outdoors, and fully approved babysitting services.
A buffet service will no longer be offered but guests will have the option of a more personalised a la carte dining menu with additional local cuisine and healthy dishes or in-room dining. The hotel is also delighted to be offering further al fresco dining alternatives such as exclusive beach picnic experiences where guests can enjoy a fresh picnic basket of Greek cuisine prepared by the hotel. As part of this, guests will receive beach equipment to allow them to enjoy a full day at Halikouna Beach, named by Forbes as one of the safest beaches to visit this year.
A Rewarding Holiday Experience
MarBella Collection has taken additional steps to ensure that the first post-lockdown holiday is a rewarding and relaxing experience. The hotel group is aware of the recent stress all guests have suffered from and is therefore promising a relaxing environment in the lush green surroundings on the south-east island of Corfu. Boasting open spaces, peaceful sea views and brand-new experiences this year, families can enjoy new, carefully curated outdoor experiences and enjoy the feeling of being active and surrounded by nature.
The MarBella Collection Hotels
At the MarBella Collection each property has been carefully considered, from the brand’s first property, MarBella Corfu Hotel which opened 50 years ago next year, providing a seamless family friendly offering to MarBella Nido Suite Hotel & Villas which opened its doors in 2018 as the collection’s adults-only hotel. From 30th April 2021, a brand new property will join the group, MarBella Elix. This hotel will mark a poignant step for the brand outside of Corfu in the Parga region, and is set to be a family-orientated property, designed for families who love the outdoors with a spirit of adventure.
