Summer 2024: Air France expands its network and continues to renew its long-haul fleet, 189 destinations in 74 countries
New routes from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Phoenix (USA), Kalamata (Greece), Verona (Italy) and Narvik-Lofoten (Norway)
Air France is responding to ongoing demand by promoting the expansion of its global network.
In summer 2024, Air France will carry more passengers to North America.
In particular:
- It is reintroducing flights to Minneapolis (Minnesota), with a daily flight.
- It launches a new direct flight between Paris – Charles de Gaulle and Phoenix (Arizona), three times a week with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
- Expands the direct connection to Raleigh-Durham (North Carolina) inaugurated in the winter of 2023, and increases the number of weekly flights to 7, up from 3 in the winter season.
During the Cannes Film Festival, Air France will operate two special flights between Los Angeles (USA) and Nice (France), with Airbus A350-900s equipped with the most modern cabins. This summer, Air France will fly to the US more than 210 times a week, serving a total of 17 destinations[1]. It will also offer nearly 60 flights to 5 cities in Canada[2].
Alongside the expansion of its North American network, the airline’s plans for the summer of 2024 also include:
- Development of the daily connection to Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, launched in winter 2023 and running until summer 2024.
- Re-launch of the direct flight to Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) launched in summer 2023, with 3 flights per week as a continuation of Zanzibar.
- More flights to Japan, including 2 daily flights between Paris-CharlesdeGaulleand Tokyo-Haneda, and 4 flights per week to Tokyo-Narita.
- Increased frequency on important routes to Africa and the Indian Ocean. Cotonou (Benin) and Antananarivo (Madagascar) will now be linked to Paris with daily flights. There will also be two daily flights to Cameroon, shared between Yaoundé and Douala. Flights to Brazzaville (Republic of Congo) will be operated by AirbusA350-900 aircraft.
The airline’s total capacity on long-haul destinations increases by 9% compared to 2023.
Cabin refurbishment on Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A350-900 aircraft continues
The refurbishment of the 777-300ER and Airbus A350-900 aircraft with the newest long-haul cabins will continue throughout the summer. This new product, available in Business, Premium Economy and Economy, is a chapter in the airline’s new travel experience.
Following New York-JFK, New York-Newark, Washington DC, Boston, Houston, Rio de Janeiro, Bangkok, Dakar, Tokyo-Haneda, Hong Kong, Seoul-Incheon, Shanghai and Johannesburg, these new cabins will also be available this summer on flights to Toronto, Chicago, Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Los Angeles, Papeete, Mexico and Tokyo-Narita.
Short- and medium-haul flights: 102 destinations, 45 seasonal routes in France and Europe
In addition to its regular schedule, Air France will offer 45 seasonal routes in France and Europe. Three new routes are launched from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to:
- Kalamata (Greece), 1 flight every Saturday from 9 July to 31 August
- Verona (Italy), with up to 3 flights per week (the route started on 2 April).
- Narvik-Lofoten (Norway), 1 flight every Saturday from 15 June to 31 August
Flights to Tromsø (Norway), previously only available in the winter season, continue in the summer with up to two flights per week from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, with Airbus A319 aircraft.
Meanwhile, Air France-KLM Group subsidiary Transavia France will fly to 116 destinations in 33 countries on 206 routes. Once again, it will be the leading low-cost airline flying from Paris airports.
