Marriott International in Greece strives to continuously raise funds for good causes and empower its “Serve 360” approach under its Corporate Social Responsibility program.
The Marriott Greece & Cyprus Business Council organized for the first time a “Run for Youth” to collect money for the SOS Children Villages Greece. This initiative encouraged associates from all the Marriott Greece & Cyprus properties to walk or run offering a unique opportunity to be a force for good and raise awareness to the Athenian community.
The event took place on Friday, 16 November in Athens with total seven properties participating including the Hotels Grande Bretagne & King George, the Athens Marriott, the Sheraton Rhodes Resort, the Blue Palace in Crete and the Vedema & Mystique in Satnorini. The fundraising run began at the Athens Marriott, following a route within the gardens of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation towards the coastline and ending at the beautiful Marina Flisvos area.
The Marriott Greece & Cyprus properties helped gather fundraisings for the SOS Children villages Greece contributing with 10 Euros per participant plus 1 additional Euro for each kilometer covered by every participant. Volunteer associates also contributed an additional 5 Euro for their participation.
The main objective of this effort is to strengthen the team spirit of our company and empower the commitment it has to undertake Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
