Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade said that Russian and Greek representatives held talks on expanding cooperation in the industrial and transport sectors.
Russian and Greek representatives held talks on expanding cooperation in the industrial and transport sectors within the framework of the Russia-Greece cross-cultural year, Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade said Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by Russian Industry and Trade Deputy Minister Georgy Kalamanov and Special Adviser to the Greek Prime Minister Dimitris Velanis. The sides discussed creating joint ventures and involving other Russian ministries and regions in expanding Greek-Russian relations, according to the statement.
The sides also agreed to boost participation in Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) organization’s events, as well as holding talks involving Russian and Greek companies on opportunities for joint projects in various sectors of the economy.
The current cross-cultural year is set to boost Russian-Greek relations in such areas as politics, economics, culture, tourism, art, science, research and technology. On January 15, Greek President Prokopios Pavlopoulos visited Moscow, where he met Russian President Vladimir Putin. The two leaders discussed the state of the Greek economy, as well as new ways for investment cooperation, the refugee crisis, stimulating trade and driving tourism.
