There is an increase in the number of reports to the Hellenic Confederation of Tourist Accommodation Entrepreneurs and to the local Associations that devious persons are approaching, via phone, tourist accommodation entrepreneurs and they are “promising” subsidies through various subsidized programs, of course, for a price.
The fraud
More specifically, aspiring “representatives” of NSRF programs call on the entrepreneurs claiming that a high amount of subsidy has been approved for their business and for its immediate disbursement, they have to pay them an amount of €5,000 – 10,000.
The phenomenon has been observed since last summer, and the fraud is already known, as in the past there had been several scams with devious people promising subsidies through NSRF.
In order to avoid any involvement in such an instance of financial fraud, SETKE warns the tourist accommodation entrepreneurs-its members to pay high attention and to inform the Association-Federation to which they belong in case they become aware of something.
