With tensions escalating in the Middle East, international airlines have cancelled flights to Israel and some other places in the region.
Fears of a wider conflict between Israel and the Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah have led to a new round of flight suspensions by leading airlines.
The Lufthansa Group, which also owns Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Swiss, said that all its airlines’ flights to Tel Aviv and Teheran have now been suspended until 14 October.
In a statement, the group added that Lufthansa Airlines has already decided to suspend flights to both Teheran and Beirut until October 26 for “operational reasons”.
“The Lufthansa Group continues to closely monitor the situation and will further assess the situation in the coming days,” the airline said in a statement.
“Affected passengers can rebook for a later travel date free of charge or, alternatively, receive a full refund of the ticket price. We regret the inconvenience caused to our passengers. The safety of our passengers and crew is always our highest priority,” he said.
