On Tuesday, September 24, 2019, on the sidelines of the international conference Sibos 2019 in London, “The new era of the Greek Financial Sector” conference will take place, under the auspices of the Hellenic Bank Association and the Athens Exchange Group.
The event aims to highlight the evolution of the Greek banking system and the Greek capital markets towards a new era, and present the economic, technological and banking achievements, as well as unveil the banks’ future plans.
The conference agenda, covered and moderated by Thomson Reuters journalists, will include the following:
Introduction – Keynote speech by Mr. George Handjinicolaou, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Bank Association, of Athens Exchange Group and of Piraeus Bank Group
Session 1: “Greece’s Economic Outlook”. The Chief Economists of the four systemic Greek banks will present in detail Greece’s economic outlook
Session 2: “Re-energizing growth in Greece”. Senior executives from the four systemic Greek banks and representatives from the Athens Stock Exchange Group and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will discuss available financing solutions that can support growth prospects and investment opportunities. They will also explore challenges and credit constraints Greek banks are facing in terms of financing the Greek economy, as well as the Greek government’s privatization program
Session 3: “Accelerating Greece & Embracing New Technologies”. Technology and digital transformation leaders of Greek banks and the Athens Stock Exchange Group will analyze issues related to the progress of financial technologies in Greece
