Hotels in Turkey appear to be gaining attention from German holidaymakers with low prices at present, according to the latest fvw Hotelometer rankings.
The top-ranked hotel in Turkey in the fortnight from March 21 – April 3 was the Delphin Diva in Lara, which regained top spot after a four-week gap, the enquiries-based ranking showed. However, the second- and third-placed hotels stand out with their low average prices. The 4.5-star Side Prenses Resort has an overall average price of just €402 (per person) while the 4.5-star Side Crown is also relatively inexpensive at €544. In comparison, the five-star Delphin Diva has an average price of €813 and the other hotels in the top ten listing are also all significantly more expensive.
In the ranking of enquiries by families, the Club Asteria, the Limak Lara and the Primasol Hane Family were the top three hotels in Turkey, while the Delphin Diva, the Side Crown and the Adalya Ocean were the most popular in terms of interest from couples.
A familiar name was once again top in Spain. The long-standing number one Lopesan Costa Meloneras jumped from third a fortnight ago to regain top spot, ahead of the SBH Costa Calma Palace and the Sotavento Beach Club, while the previous number one, the Blau Punta Reina dropped back to fourth. New entries in the top ten were the Viva Bahia (7th), the SBH Hotel Monica Beach (9th) and the Sentido H10 Playa Esmeralda.
In the family ranking, the Iberostar Club Cala Barca, the Blau Punta Reina and the Iberostar Albufera Park were the top three. Couples showed most interest in the SBH Costa Calma, the Lopesan Costa Meloneras and the Hipotels Mediterraneo.
The Greece ranking was again headed by the Ikaros Beach while the Lindos Princess moved up three places to second, ahead of the Pilot Beach Resort. Families were most interested in the Lindos Princess, the Lyttos Beach and the Pilot Beach Resort, and the couples’ ranking was led by the Ikaros Beach, the Kernos Beach and the Atrium Palace.
The fvw Hotelometer is a fortnightly ranking of the most popular tourist hotels in Turkey, Spain and Greece, showing customer enquiries but not actual bookings. It is based on all enquiries in the Traveltainment reservations system used by German travel agents and online booking engines. The data, supplied by IT company TrevoTrend, is split into different categories (overall, families, couples, singles and star ratings).
