TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas, Greece’s leading Inspection and Certification Organization, has developed and proudly presents the world’s first integrated Certification Scheme regarding measures against corona-virus: TÜV AUSTRIA CoVid-Shield. TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas, with this new Certification Scheme, declares present and active in restarting business and economic activity after the quarantine period and increases the citizens’ and consumers’ trust in TÜV AUSTRIA CoVid-Shield certified businesses.
Specifically, with responsibility and regards to Health, Safety and Business Continuity, TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas, addresses all companies whose business involve socializing and hosting and generally have public meeting places, confirming that they:
- Take the necessary measures, implement the appropriate procedures and the appropriate practices according to the competent authorities and the scientific community in order to prevent the transmission of the virus.
- Provide the means and infrastructure needed to implement procedures and practices.
- Have sufficiently trained staff and are constantly updating knowledge with training programs in order to be aligned with new instructions as issued by the national Health Organizations and other authorities/institutes (eg WHO)
- Inform and give guidance to all those who enter/use the business premises, in order to avoid the transmission of the virus
The Scheme allows three different levels of “CoVid-Shield” certification (Basic, Higher or Excellent) based on the combination of the selected number of the intermediate Surveillance Audits and the sequence of their notification type.
In the context of the presentation of TÜV AUSTRIA CoVid-Shield, the CEO of the company Ioannis Kallias, underlined: “For all of us at TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas, the protection of Health and Business Continuity is Culture. The new TÜV AUSTRIA CoVid-Shield Certification Scheme applies to all hospitality companies (hotels, accommodation), catering, food preparation and processing units, transport companies and supply chain, supermarkets, commercial stores, sports and gymnastics centers, public services, educational centers, schools, facility management companies etc.
