display: block; float: none;\"\/><\/div>\n<p>Instead, in person meets are \u201cstill highly valued\u201d\u00a0and\u00a0business\u00a0overnights\u00a0and\u00a0spending have surpassed previous peaks.\u00a0The\u00a0report\u00a0notes\u00a0business\u00a0travel\u00a0is\u00a0being built largely around\u00a0Business\u00a0Events.<\/p>\n<p>Annual\u00a0growth\u00a0in\u00a0business\u00a0visits of around 19% in\u00a02024\u00a0outstrips a\u00a0growth\u00a0of around 11%\u00a0for\u00a0leisure\u00a0visits according to\u00a0Tourism\u00a0Economics.<\/p>\n<p>Though\u00a0business\u00a0travel\u2019s\u00a0growth\u00a0is\u00a0expected to slow somewhat to around 17% in 2025, over\u00a0the\u00a0period\u00a02024\u00a0to 2030 such visits are predicted to grow by around 50% against a\u00a0growth\u00a0in\u00a0leisure\u00a0visits of a little under 30%\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0same period.<\/p>\n<p>Significantly,\u00a0business\u00a0travellers are staying longer\u00a0and\u00a0spending more per trip. While\u00a0the\u00a0volume of international\u00a0business\u00a0visits currently remains 6% below pre-pandemic levels,\u00a0the\u00a0number of overnights are 3% above that 2019 benchmark.<\/p>\n<p>Such extended visits are partly thanks to\u00a0the\u00a0trend\u00a0for\u00a0\u2018bleisure\u2019 \u2013\u00a0the\u00a0combining of\u00a0business\u00a0trips with extra days of\u00a0leisure\u00a0tourism. In this respect remote working has had a positive effect\u00a0the\u00a0report\u00a0notes, enabling\u00a0travellers to be more flexible about working overseas around\u00a0their\u00a0leisure\u00a0time.<\/p>\n<p>However pure\u00a0leisure\u00a0travel, which\u00a0is\u00a0also seeing extending lengths of stay, remains by a large margin\u00a0the\u00a0most important\u00a0travel\u00a0segment in terms of volume\u00a0and\u00a0spending, comprising 69% of arrivals\u00a0and\u00a080% of\u00a0global\u00a0travel\u00a0spending.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Juliette Losardo, exhibition director\u00a0for\u00a0World\u00a0Travel\u00a0Market London\u00a0<\/strong>added: \u201cWTM\u2019s aim\u00a0is\u00a0to help attendees navigate change, ensuring\u00a0travel\u00a0professionals are equipped\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0year ahead.
