Croatia specialist tour operator I.D. Riva Tours is to be taken over by Dertour Deutschland, following approvals from the merger control mechanism, with the acquisition set to take place in the first quarter of 2025.
With this acquisition, Dertour is investing in Croatia as a fast-growing holiday destination, according to Ingo Burmester, managing director of Dertour Central Europe. It also strengthens its portfolio of specialist travel providers.
With the acquisition, the Dertour Group seeks to expand the circle of more than 30 specialised brands that are concentrated across Europe under its protection.
According to a statement, the brand will continue to operate under the Dertour umbrella and will continue to grow within the tourism network. Employees will remain and the company will continue to operate at its facilities in Porec and Trogir in Croatia and in Gräfelfing near Munich.
For visitors and partners, booking channels and contacts will remain as usual.
In the future, the offer in Croatia is to be further expanded. To this end, close cooperation is planned with the Dertour Group’s Croatian destination agency, Destination Touristik Services. This agency has two offices in Pula and Makarska on the Croatian Adriatic coast. In the future, new joint branches will also be established in Croatia.
I.D. Riva Tours employs 55 people and offers tours in Croatia, with a focus on small boat cruises, group tours and holiday homes and apartments.
According to Dertour, tour operator I.D. Riva Tours has a portfolio of around 200 holiday homes and works with almost 400 Croatian hotels and holiday resorts. In addition, it exclusively markets around 30 sailing boats and yachts.
