Greece is among the top choices for Americans for relaxation in the fall

Greece is among the top three destinations for American travelers seeking a relaxing getaway this fall, according to a recent survey by Rustic Pathways.

The company’s researchers, which specializes in travel for students, analyzed 70 destinations based on 39 factors, such as cost, safety, amenities, and ease of travel for Americans. Special emphasis was placed on classic relaxation vacation features, such as beaches, spas, and wellness centers, in order to create the ultimate Relaxation Index.

Canada took first place with a score of 64.74 out of 100, thanks to its abundance of wellness centers (37.7 per 100,000 visitors, 220% higher than the average), numerous quiet villas, and relatively cheap flights in September, with an average ticket cost of $392 for a round-trip flight.

Italy followed closely with a score of 63.49, attracting travelers with postcard-like beaches, more than ten spas per 100,000 visitors, and surprisingly affordable hotels with an average price of $119 per night.

Greece completed the top three with 61.16, combining world-class beaches and sightseeing with affordable dining options, balancing the slightly higher prices of flights.

“Relaxation vacations are essentially short vacations that focus on peace, relaxation, and rest, as opposed to busy city vacations or business trips,” explained Shayne Fitz-Coy, CEO of Rustic Pathways. And he added: “Instead of running from one attraction to another and worrying about money, choose affordable and relaxing activities that rejuvenate you. Autumn is the ideal time to take this leisurely trip, as you can take advantage of off-season holiday deals and smaller crowds.”
