Athens International Airport: 34 million passengers in 2025 – 6.7% increase

The Athens airport passenger traffic in December 2025 reached 2.31 million people, an 8.4% increase compared to December 2024.

Both domestic and international passenger traffic increased, exceeding 2024 levels by 5.5% and 9.6%, respectively.

Overall, on an annual basis, the airport’s traffic reached 34 million passengers, marking a 6.7% increase. Passenger traffic, both domestic and international, increased by 2.2% and 8.6%, respectively.

The number of flights at Athens International Airport for 2025 was 283,589, representing a 5.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Both domestic and international flights saw an increase of 1.3% and 8.7% compared to 2024.

Note that passenger traffic from January to November 2025 at all commercial airports in the country (39 airports: 24 HCAA, 14 FRAPORT GREECE, AIA), amounted to 79,885,217, compared to 76,260,390 passengers in the same period in 2024. As for the number of aircraft movements (arrivals and departures of domestic and internat


ional aircraft), for the eleven-month period from January to November 2025, at the total of 39 airports in the country, whose air traffic control is mainly exercised by the Civil Aviation Authority, there was an increase of 4.1% compared to 2024, as a total of 600,747 flights were made during the examined period, compared to 577,118 flights in 2024.
