Greek island on the list of the most romantic destinations for a honeymoon in 2026

One of the most popular and photographed Greek islands, Santorini, is included in the list of the ten most romantic destinations for a honeymoon trip in 2026, compiled by hotelwithtub.com.

Santorini ranks 9th, remaining a popular choice for a honeymoon, with the island’s charm lying in its rocky landscape, unique sunsets, and quiet nights, especially during the intermediate periods of the year when the island is calm.

The international ranking of the top 10 cities for honeymoons was based on data related to how couples travel, as well as data from TripAdvisor and Instagram, including romantic restaurants, hotels, experiences for couples, and related hashtags.

Rome is emerging as the most romantic destination in the world for a honeymoon in 2026.

The city scored high with 237 locations for honeymoon couples and more than 1,600 romantic restaurants, as well as a long list of attractions and landmarks that attract lovers from all over.

This is what a honeymoon looks like in 2026

This year’s ranking reflects the different choices of couples. Classic destinations remain popular, however, newlyweds are also turning to nature destinations and more relaxed itineraries.

Ubud in Indonesia ranks second, with 173 points for newlyweds, who are drawn to jungle villas, wellness resorts, and nature-focused retreats.

Paris ranks third, with 156 points for a honeymoon, reinforcing its long-standing allure for first-time and repeat visitors. Its charm is easy to explain, even without a checklist. Neighborhoods that are perfect for walking, cafes that stay open late, the river view, and days at the museums create a flexible itinerary that fits different budgets.

Phuket ranks 4th with 153 points for a honeymoon and is described as the top tropical destination for newlyweds on the list, while Barcelona ranks 5th with 147 points for a honeymoon, and Lisbon ranks 6th with 134 points for a honeymoon. Both cities combine gastronomic delights and scenic viewpoints.

Florence is in 7th place with 130 honeymoon spots, with art, gastronomic delights, and history being a point of reference for newlyweds.

Marrakech is ranked 8th with 128 honeymoon spots, standing out for its cultural immersion and rich sensory travel experience.

New York closes the list in 10th place with 124 honeymoon destinations, highlighting how popular urban destinations remain for newlyweds.
