According to LinkedIn’s latest Jobs on the Rise 2026 report, the travel advisor profession remains one of the most dynamic and attractive careers in the United States.
Although it ranked 5th in the relevant ranking in 2025, the profession continues to be consistently among the top 25, ranking 18th in 2026. This year’s list shows that travel advisors are more in demand than a number of other professions, including psychiatric nurses, quantitative researchers and analysts, financial advisors, construction project managers, legal researchers, public affairs specialists, and benefits consultants.
According to LinkedIn, travel advisors “help customers plan and book travel experiences by coordinating the logistics and offering personalized recommendations that meet their preferences and budget.”
According to the platform’s data, the majority of travel advisor positions are located in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. The gender distribution shows a clear predominance of women, who account for 82% of the total, an increase of two percentage points compared to last year.
The median tenure of professionals in the industry is 5.3 years, and the most common previous positions they come from are administrative assistant, salesperson, and customer service representative.
The most common skills listed for the job include travel planning, travel management, and business travel. Regarding work models, 15.4% of positions are offered with the possibility of full remote work and 3.7% with a hybrid regime.
The analysis of the LinkedIn Economic Graph was based on millions of new job openings started by LinkedIn members between January 1, 2023, and July 31, 2025, to calculate the growth rate for each job title.
