Prices for family holidays in Mallorca are quite dynamic this Easter season, as the difference with Turkey in a holiday package for a family with two children is about 1,100 euros, according to the German tour operator Alltours, while Rhodes is more affordable, which makes Mallorca anything but a bargain destination for families from Germany.
The tour operator and its hotel division Allsun start the Easter holiday season with extended offers. Exclusively in Mallorca, the Allsun chain has already opened 17 of its 21 hotels – many of which have been open since February. However, despite this early opening and increased flight options to the popular Balearic island, it is clear that Mallorca is no longer a budget, family-friendly destination.
According to Alltours, the cost of a one-week family holiday package, including two adults and two children, on an all-inclusive basis, at an Allsun 4-star hotel in Mallorca at Easter, starts from €2,843. A similar holiday package in Turkey costs just 1,750 euros -a difference of around 1,100 euros. While Rhodes also has prices much lower than the level of Mallorca, starting from 2,381 euros, in the tour operator.
Destination for the whole year Mallorca
Despite rising prices, Alltours continues to focus heavily on Mallorca, with all of Allsun’s hotels on the island opening again ahead of the official start of the summer season on May 1.
At the same time, Alltours is accelerating its expansion in other Mediterranean countries, including Greece, with two new Allsun hotels in Crete to be added to the hotel chain’s portfolio from the summer of 2025: the renovated 4.5-star Allsun Hotel Malia Beach, which is just making its debut, and the newly built 5-star Carolina Sun Beach hotel, which is expected to open in July. This will bring the hotel brand to 32 hotels, including 21 in Mallorca, 6 in the Canary Islands, 4 in Crete and 1 in Turkey.
Increase in demand even for last minute bookings
Alltours expects high demand at the start of the Easter holidays in the first states in Germany. As a result, hotel and flight packages have been extended in the short term for last-minute holidaymakers. In addition to Majorca, Greece and Turkey, Egypt, mainland Spain and the Canary Islands are among the most popular destinations.
To make holidays even easier for families, the tour operator offers various price advantages: Children under two years old, for example, travel for free, while in many hotels children up to 14 years old stay free of charge. In addition, special fixed prices for children apply during the holiday.
However, despite these discounts, Mallorca remains the most expensive destination in Altours’ Easter schedule and is therefore likely to be a less attractive option especially for families with a limited travel budget.
