The international luxury resort chain One&Only has chosen the renowned French ski destination for its first hotel in the Alps, with operations targeted to begin by 2030.
One&Only Resorts is opening a new chapter in its global expansion strategy, having announced its first investment in the Alps. The company has selected the iconic Courchevel 1850 as the location for the project—one of the world’s most recognized and luxurious winter destinations.
The new One&Only Courchevel will be developed on the site of the historic Courcheneige hotel, which will be completely redeveloped as part of an extensive investment project scheduled for completion by 2030.
According to the company, the existing hotel will be transformed with respect for the history and architecture of the area, creating a new benchmark for the luxury hospitality market in the French Alps.
Fewer than 100 rooms and private residences
Although the final capacity has not yet been announced, One&Only stated that the new resort will feature fewer than 100 rooms and suites, as well as a number of high-end private residences.
The decision to limit the number of keys is part of the company’s philosophy of delivering highly personalized services and ultra-luxury experiences.
The project is expected to target the top tier of the global luxury travel market, further strengthening Courchevel’s position as a leading destination for affluent travelers from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America.
Restaurants, wellness, and specialized services for skiers
The new One&Only Courchevel will include:
- multiple restaurants,
- bars and lounges,
- extensive wellness areas,
- indoor and outdoor wellness facilities,
- a modern fitness center,
- as well as specialized spa treatments designed specifically for ski and winter sports enthusiasts.
The company’s management believes that the growing demand for premium wellness experiences in mountain resorts is creating significant growth opportunities for the luxury hospitality sector.
Ski-in / Ski-out access to Les Trois Vallées
One of the key advantages of the new resort will be its privileged location. The One&Only Courchevel will be situated on an elevated site with panoramic views of the French Alps and direct access to the Bellecôte slope. The location offers ski-in / ski-out access, allowing guests to reach the ski area directly without any transfers. At the same time, the hotel will be directly connected to Les Trois Vallées, the largest interconnected ski area in the world, which attracts millions of visitors every year.
Courchevel remains a top luxury destination
Courchevel 1850 has long been considered one of Europe’s most exclusive winter destinations.
The area hosts some of the world’s most luxurious hotels and features a significant concentration of Michelin-starred restaurants.
It is also a key hub for the international jet set, thanks to its combination of high-end hospitality, gastronomy, luxury shopping, and vibrant après-ski life.
With One&Only’s new investment, Courchevel further strengthens its position on the global ultra-luxury tourism map, while the brand expands its portfolio into another iconic high-income market, beyond the seaside and exotic destinations with which it has been internationally associated.
