69.8% of the proposals submitted to the program “Supporting the Establishment and Operation of New Small and Medium-sized Tourism Enterprises” in the regions of North Aegean, Eastern Macedonia–Thrace, Central Macedonia, Epirus, Thessaly, Western Greece, Crete, Western Macedonia, Ionian Islands, Central Greece, and Peloponnese of the NSRF were rejected, either due to lack of budget or due to formal—minor—deficiencies in the file.
Of a total of 6,669 proposals submitted, of which 3 were withdrawn, 2,021 proposals were approved for inclusion. Of the 4,645 proposals that were rejected, 2,365 were approved but will not receive funding due to lack of budget, and 2,280 due to deficiencies.
According to an announcement by the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, “One thousand five hundred and seventy-three (1,573) funding applications, with a total public expenditure of €295,757,680 euros, were approved by the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis, following the meetings of the ten Evaluation Committees for the action ‘Support for the Establishment and Operation of New Small and Medium-sized Tourism Enterprises’ in the regions of North Aegean, Eastern Macedonia–Thrace, Central Macedonia, Epirus, Thessaly, Western Greece, Crete, Western Macedonia, Ionian Islands, Central Greece, and Peloponnese.” A total of five thousand one hundred and sixty-five (5,165) applications were examined, with a requested budget of €1,753,746,326.18 and total requested public expenditure of €959,089,150.77.
