A different week was experienced in late October by employees, partners, and guests of allsun Hotels Greece, through a series of social actions that were almost effortlessly mobilized and had a common denominator of giving. The initiative, which was organized quietly but with a clear purpose, left a significant impact on organizations and people in the area of Heraklion.
The response from the employees was immediate. Many people gathered gifts and items for “The Smile of the Child” on their own, which were delivered along with food and baby products donated by the company. Concurrently, hotel guests were informed about the initiative and chose to contribute financially, with the amount collected being fully utilized to support the Heraklion Animal Shelter – from food and blankets to materials that improve the daily lives of the animals.

Significant support was also given to the Heraklion Social Grocery Store, where a large quantity of food was donated by both hotels and companies that wanted to contribute.
One of the most special moments of the week was the visit to the Heraklion Old People’s Home. The allsun Hotels team prepared and offered a full meal of hotel-level cuisine, creating a warm, almost family-like environment for the elderly. The atmosphere was lifted by the intervention of Dimitris Makridakis and his team, who participated voluntarily with live music and dance, giving the day a festive, emotional dimension.
Behind the scenes of the events, several businesses from Crete were also present, offering products or significant discounts: from baby milk and water to pet food and grocery store supplies. Their contribution was considered crucial to the success of the week.

The leadership team of allsun Hotels Greece was present at every event, not just for photos, but to actively support the efforts. And yet, as they themselves admit, the real power behind the initiative was the employees: people who with kindness, professionalism, and a willingness to give, gave substance to every action.
Social Contribution Week was not designed as a communication project nor was it presented in a formal manner. It was a collective experience that showed what can be achieved when a large hotel family operates consistently with the society in which it operates.
The moments, meetings, and actions of this week already serve as a reference point for the future – and as a reminder that solidarity doesn’t need voices, just intention.
