Airlines and airports around the world are going to great efforts to offer punctuality to their customers, with Aeromexico and Doha Hamad International Airport topping the charts for the month of February, according to aviation analytics firm Cirium.
In particular, Mexico’s national airline, Aeromexico, topped the global ranking of airlines with the most on-time arrivals and departures, with 92.87% of its 14,701 flights arriving on time.
It is worth noting that Aeromexico is a consistent leader in terms of accuracy. In 2024, the carrier won the “Global Airline” award as the world’s most punctual airline, with an impressive 86.70% performance rate.
Aeromexico was closely followed by European airline Iberia, which achieved an on-time performance (OTP) of 91.25%. Meanwhile, Qatar Airways secured third place in the global ranking for February 2025, with 87.24%, and continued its dominance in the Middle East.
It is worth noting that both South American and European carriers dominate the top ten list of the world’s most punctual airlines.
British Airways ranked fourth in a global ranking of the most punctual airlines last month.
“For the first time in a long time, a British airline has entered the top ten most consistent carriers, both globally and regionally in Europe,” commented Cirium.
Last month, the UK-flagged carrier saw 86.9% of its flights arrive on time – up from 78.1% in January 2025 and 70.1% in December 2024 – suggesting the airline’s operational improvements, according to Cirium.
Lufthansa rounded out the top five. The German national carrier secured fifth place on the list of the world’s most punctual airlines, with 86.7% of its flights arriving on-time in February 2025. The other airlines, in order, were Saudia, Avianca, Hainan Airlines, Latam Airlines and Emirates.
