Three Greek beaches have been included among the 14 best beaches in Europe for 2026, according to a list published by the travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
The selection was made by editors of the magazine’s British edition and features beaches that offer different kinds of experiences, ranging from secluded coves to long stretches of coastline with vibrant tourist activity.
According to the magazine, the beaches featured in the list stand out either for their striking natural beauty or for the unique experiences they offer visitors. These are destinations where travellers can either enjoy complete relaxation or combine swimming with activities, local gastronomy and exploration.
From Greece, the list includes Fteri Beach in Kefalonia, Seralia Beach in Sifnos and Vitali Beach in Andros.
Fteri Beach in Kefalonia is described as a spectacular and relatively secluded destination. Located at the base of white cliffs, the beach can only be reached by boat or after a hike of about one hour. According to the article, those who arrive early in the morning often have the opportunity to enjoy the landscape almost entirely to themselves. The deep blue waters are considered ideal for swimming and snorkeling, while the white pebbled shore creates a striking contrast with the colour of the sea.
Seralia Beach in Sifnos lies just below the historic settlement of Kastro, on the northeastern side of the island. The small pebble beach combines swimming with the culinary experiences offered by local establishments in the area. The article makes special mention of Cantina, a small seaside eatery where visitors can sample dishes based on local ingredients, such as eggplant salad and fried chickpea fritters, while enjoying views of the Aegean Sea.
Vitali Beach in Andros is presented as one of the most authentic seaside destinations in the Cyclades. Despite the island’s growing popularity, this particular beach remains relatively quiet even during the peak summer season. The landscape is characterised by rocky formations, caves and clear waters, while access requires about a one-hour drive from the main town of Andros.
The list also includes beaches from other European countries. Among them are Praia da Comporta in Portugal, Mala Beach on the French Riviera, Cala de Deià in Mallorca, Corniglia in Italy’s Cinque Terre, as well as Diamond Beach in Iceland, known for its black volcanic sand and ice fragments from a nearby glacier that wash ashore.
According to Condé Nast Traveler, these beaches rank among “Europe’s most unforgettable destinations,” combining spectacular scenery, a distinctive atmosphere and experiences that range from complete tranquillity to lively seaside settings.
