New destinations and direct routes from Athens and Thessaloniki in AEGEAN’s winter schedule

Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) and Las Palmas (Gran Canaria) from Athens and Amsterdam (Netherlands) from Thessaloniki are the new destinations with direct flights that appeared on AEGEAN’s website and booking systems, giving a first signal for the new winter season (Winter 2024).

In particular, the new direct flights from Athens’ Eleftherios Venizelos Airport to Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Intl Airport (AUH) will start in October and will operate three times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, strengthening the country’s connectivity with Athens. This is AEGEAN’s second direct route to and from the United Arab Emirates after the launch of the new direct route to Dubai last year. AEGEAN already operates in the Gulf and Middle East countries with direct flights to and from Riyadh, Jeddah, Amman, Dubai and Beirut, while in recent years it has been systematically strengthening its activity in the region both by adding new routes and by increasing frequencies.

The new direct flights from Athens to Las Palmas are scheduled to start in February 2025 and will operate twice a week, every Monday and Thursday, giving travellers the opportunity to explore another new seasonal destination for “summer holidays” in winter. Las Palmas airport, part of the Canary Islands archipelago, is located 150 kilometres off the coast of Africa (southwest of Morocco in the North Atlantic) and will henceforth be AEGEAN’s longest destination, with a flight time of just over 5.5 hours.

Finally, AEGEAN is systematically investing in the development of its second largest base in Thessaloniki, and from 28 October AEGEAN will also be operating a direct connection between Thessaloniki’s Macedonia Airport and Amsterdam, with up to three weekly flights, and tickets are already available on the airline’s website and through travel agencies.

In conclusion, it is recalled that a few weeks ago the new direct routes Thessaloniki-Naxos (4 weekly flights) and Heraklion-Kalamata (2 weekly flights) were launched, which were announced at the beginning of the summer season.
