-New franchise agreements in Greece, Portugal and Croatia underline Hilton’s commitment to further growth in the European resort market
Hilton continues its rapid expansion in the European resort market with four new franchise agreements that strengthen its portfolio in the Mediterranean. The recently agreed resorts, which will operate in Greece, Portugal and Croatia under the Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Tapestry Collection by Hilton and Curio Collection by Hilton brands, will offer unique hospitality experiences to guests.
Specifically, the following hotels are scheduled to open in the next two years: Hilton Mykonos Beach Resort & Spa and Sound of the Sea Karpathos, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, in Greece, Casa de Sada Algarve, Curio Collection by Hilton in Portugal and Hotel Preko Ugljan, Curio Collection by Hilton, in Croatia.
These new hotels underscore Hilton’s ongoing commitment to providing unique getaway experiences in Europe’s most sought-after travel destinations. They join Hilton’s more than 100 resorts either already operating or under development across Europe, the Middle East and Africa under nine brands. This expansion aligns with Hilton’s strategy to strengthen its global resort portfolio, which has doubled in the last five years and now includes more than 350 hotels worldwide.
Alan Mantin, vice president of Southern European development at Hilton, said: “Both we and our hotel owners are thrilled to be creating these outstanding hotels in Greece, Portugal and Croatia. Demand for premium resorts continues to grow globally, with iconic locations in the Mediterranean high on the list for the more than 200 million Hilton Honors members. As we approach the end of a remarkable year in terms of Hilton resort openings in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, we look forward to further strengthening our hotel portfolio in 2025 and beyond.”
According to Hilton’s 2025 Trends Report, many travellers are looking for destinations that offer a balance between relaxation and immersive, culturally rich experiences to make the most of their holiday moments. Hilton’s new properties in the Mediterranean are responding to exactly this demand.
Nicole Tilzer, vice president of Hilton’s All-Inclusive & Resort Strategy, said: “Recent deals in leading European locations demonstrate our commitment to growing our portfolio of resorts in both primary and emerging leisure destinations. These resorts combine serene coastal retreats with authentic experiences inspired by the history and character of each destination, always with Hilton’s signature hospitality. Each resort will invite guests to relax in beautiful surroundings and enjoy a range of amenities including pools, spas, fitness centers, and locally inspired meals, while providing opportunities to immerse themselves in the local culture.”
