Red Sea Global: The Amaala luxury resort is moving forward | The Triple Bay project is changing the tourism map of Saudi Arabia

Red Sea Global (RSG), the Saudi Arabian government agency for developing sustainable tourism destinations, announced significant progress on the Amaala Triple Bay project, one of the world’s most ambitious luxury tourism projects. The company confirmed that the first stage of development is in full swing, with the completion of the basic infrastructure and preparation for the reception of the first visitors by 2025.

Amaala, along with the equally iconic The Red Sea Project, are the two pillars of Saudi Arabia’s new strategy to diversify its economy beyond oil, as part of the “Vision 2030” plan. The goal is to place the country among the top high-end international tourist destinations, offering experiences that combine luxury, environmental sustainability, and innovation.

According to Red Sea Global, Triple Bay, located on the shores of the Red Sea in northwestern Saudi Arabia, is designed as a luxury and wellness ecosystem inspired by the natural forms of the area. The development will include three seaside bays, 29 hotels, high-end residences, golf courses, thalassotherapy centers, and cultural facilities. The first phase is expected to provide 1,200 rooms, while upon completion of all stages, the capacity will exceed 3,000 accommodation units.

RSG notes that the project is designed with zero carbon footprint, complete energy autonomy from renewable sources, and water reuse systems, making it a model of “sustainable luxury tourism”. Meanwhile, critical infrastructure has already been completed, such as the Amaala International Airport, which will serve private and commercial flights, as well as the Marine Life Institute, a research and entertainment center that will host the largest “living” marine species biosphere in the area.

John Pagano, CEO of Red Sea Global, said that Amaala “will redefine the future of sustainable luxury tourism.” As he stated, “development is proceeding according to schedule, while the construction quality and environmental standards of the project set new standards for hospitality worldwide.” He noted that RSG has already signed cooperation agreements with top international luxury hotel chains, which will manage the first units of the complex.

The progress of the project reflects the overall development momentum of Saudi Arabia in tourism. Greece has invested over $800 billion in creating new destinations, with the goal of attracting 100 million visitors annually by 2030. In this context, Amaala is being promoted as “the ultimate wellness and culture destination,” attracting high-income travelers from Europe, Asia, and the United States.

At the same time, RSG emphasizes employment and education of the local population. More than 15,000 workers are already participating in the construction projects, while vocational training programs are preparing new generations of Saudis to staff future tourism businesses.

Amaala Triple Bay is expected to be one of the most advanced sustainable tourism destinations in the world – a benchmark for how luxury, nature, and technology can coexist.
