The Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT) will take part in three major international tourism exhibitions during the first quarter of 2026, following a decision by the Secretary-General.
This participation forms part of the organisation’s promotional strategy for Greek tourism and is included in the approved Marketing Plan for 2025–2028. The decision is based on the institutional framework governing EOT’s operation and on its authorised outreach programme.
The three exhibitions in which EOT will participate are Ferienmesse Vienna in Austria, taking place from 15 to 18 January 2026; FITUR Madrid in Spain, running from 21 to 25 January 2026; and the international travel exhibition ITB Berlin, scheduled for 3 to 5 March 2026.
Regarding ITB, it is noted that an additional act will follow, as the required ministerial approvals must first be issued.
The document clarifies that participation in these exhibitions falls within the organisation’s approved publicity, promotion and communication activities, and that these events are included in the annual action plan of EOT’s overseas offices.
The decision also approves total expenditure of €227,600 to cover the rental of exhibition spaces and the construction of basic “shell-scheme” booths. This amount also includes part of the banking fees linked to participation in FITUR and Ferienmesse. The cost will be charged to EOT’s ordinary budget for 2025 under the relevant financial codes.
The approved credits will be transferred to EOT’s foreign offices via prepayment orders. The respective office heads will manage and settle these funds in accordance with the applicable legislation.
Additionally, the decision authorises the directors of EOT’s overseas services to sign the necessary contracts for renting exhibition space, constructing booths, and organising promotional events and public-relations actions within the framework of the three exhibitions. This authorisation covers all agreements required for EOT’s participation from 1 January to 31 December 2026.
Finally, the decision is copied to the relevant EOT departments, the Ministry of Tourism, and the organisation’s foreign offices responsible for carrying out the required procedures.
