Eastern European countries are the new target markets for the TUI Group, with its CEO, Sebastian Ebel, citing the strategic importance of the Polish market in the group’s growth plans in the region, praising TUI Poland’s performance.
During his visit to the Polish capital, Mr Ebel said: “New markets, new products and more customers: TUI Poland is the model for expanding our business in Eastern European countries and for additional growth. TUI Poland is clearly oriented and in this lies its success: Focus, customer focus and travel offers tailored to the Polish market and customers’ wishes. These include not only package holidays, which have been an export success, but also additional services such as excursions and insurance.”
For his part, David Schelp is TUI Group’s Managing Director for Markets and Airlines. On the occasion of the Group’s Executive Committee meeting in Warsaw, he said: “TUI is currently active in 16 markets. More will be added in the future. For the Eastern European region, the Polish market is particularly important: TUI Poland is moving forward boldly and is already showing today what TUI’s future is in new markets: customer focus, entrepreneurial thinking and cost awareness. In Poland we have developed a business model and technology platform that we will now bring to new markets in Eastern Europe. I am convinced that in this way we will repeat the success of TUI Poland in other countries.”
It is noted that more than one million Polish holidaymakers are already travelling with TUI Poland to Turkey, Greece and Spain, which are the most popular summer destinations.
Recently, the TUI Group presented its development plans for the Czech Republic. Next summer it is expected to double the number of visitors. These markets are part of David Schelp’s new “Expansion Businesses” division, Executive Officer Markets and Airline.
