This year’s World Travel Market (WTM) London is hosting the largest ministerial presence in the event’s 45-year history. The 19th consecutive ministerial conference is expected to surpass last year’s attendance record, with more than 50 tourism ministers in attendance, marking a 12% increase from 2023.
The conference is being held from Tuesday, November 4, in the new George V Room 1. It is organized in collaboration with UN Tourism and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), and will be moderated by BBC News’ main presenter, Christian Fraser.
According to WTM London, this year’s event “will present the most substantial composition so far,” continuing last year’s thematic discussion on artificial intelligence. The focus will be on the role of new technologies in the development of new markets, the alignment of tourism investments with the economic policy of states, and the diversification of investment models for greater resilience.
“Tourism is at a critical juncture of transformation,” WTM reports. “The goal is to move from traditional, provider-centric models to long-term strategic models.”
