Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company, with 25 global brands and approximately 9,200 hotels, experienced significant growth in the first quarter of 2024 in Europe, the Middle East, Eurasia and Africa.
Highlights include the signing of 27 contracts, the opening of 22 hotels and the addition of a net number of rooms equivalent to approximately 1,400 rooms in the area.
The company saw significant growth and openings in key markets in the region, including France, Germany, India, Turkey and the United Kingdom, contributing to its 16th consecutive quarterly increase in global growth. Also in the second quarter of 2024, the Europe, Middle East, Eurasia and Africa region saw a 15% increase in revenue per available room (RevPAR), with constant currency.
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts currently works with a total of 14 hotels in Greece and Cyprus, including three in Athens, two in Loutraki and one hotel each in Vravrona, Nea Makri, Thessaloniki, Halkidiki, Alexandroupolis, Corfu, Rhodes and Crete. In Cyprus it cooperates with a hotel.

Milestones in first quarter of 2024: New markets, new brands and presence expansion
From entering new markets, introducing new brands to developing existing brands, 2024 continues to be successful for Wyndham in the Europe, Middle East, Eurasia and Africa region. This growth is in line with the ongoing recovery of the tourism industry in Europe during second quarter of 2024. Arrivals from abroad (+6%) and overnight stays (+7%) exceeded 2019 levels, reflecting an increase of 12% and 10% respectively year-on-year. In addition, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has forecast that air traffic will grow by 5.9% in Europe in 2024, with further growth of 5.5% in 2025. Among the focal points, for the company it is worth noting the following:
-Carried out an extensive renovation at Wyndham Wroclaw Old Town, making it the largest hotel in the city. The renovation, completed in April 2024, added 152 rooms, bringing the total to 357.
-Super 8 by Wyndham opened in Durham after the brand entered the UK market last year in Chester. The hotel has already achieved Level 5 in the Wyndham Green program, the highest score on the company’s sustainability charter.
-Inaugurated the first Dolce by Wyndham in Turkey, opening Dolce by Wyndham Çeşme Alaçatı in June. The all-inclusive hotel features 155 rooms and suites, a private beach and gardens, state-of-the-art meeting spaces, a fitness centre and spa, and a restaurant specialising in Mediterranean cuisine. Additional expansions in Turkey included the openings of FT Lotus Thermal Hotel & Spa, Trademark Collection by Wyndham, Wyndham Datca Perili Bay and La Quinta by Wyndham Cesme. The total number of Wyndham hotels in Turkey has now reached about 120.
-Expanded its presence in India with the opening of 3 new hotels: The Earth Amritsar, Trademark Collection by Wyndham, Ramada Encore by Wyndham Udaipur Roopnagar, and Ramada by Wyndham Gorakhpur Gorakhnath Mandir Road.
-Opened Dolce by Wyndham Versailles – Domaine du Montcel, a luxury resort with 178 rooms on the outskirts of Paris, just minutes from the world-famous Palace of Versailles. The hotel features 140 acres of gardens, two restaurants, bars with impressive terraces, a state-of-the-art conference center with 18 meeting rooms and a fully equipped spa and wellness center.
