German holidaymakers prefer Ikaros Beach Hotel, Malia, Crete, for their holidays to Greece in the latest fortnightly fvw Hotelometer rankings.
The Greece ranking was again headed by the Ikaros Beach ahead of the Pilot Beach Resort and the Lindos Princess. These three were also the favourites for families, in a slightly different order: Lindos, Pilot Beach and Ikaros. The couples’ ranking was led by the Ikaros Beach, the Apollo Beach and the Atrium Palace.
There are eight new names in the top ten ranking of the most popular hotels in Turkey for the fortnight from April 4 – 17, many of them standing out with low average prices, according to the enquiries-based ranking.
The well-known Royal Dragon hotel in Side, which had dropped out of the ranking in the previous fortnight, roared back to take top place but the previous number one, the Delphin Diva in Lara, dived out of the list. Other new names in the overall top ten ranking were the Miracle Resort in Lara, the Primasol Hane Family, the Delphin Imperial, the Adinbey Famous Resort (Belek), the Delphin Deluxe (Alanya), the Concorde de Luxe (Lara) and the Titanic Beach (Lara).
The only two hotels to keep their places in the top ten ranking were second-placed Oleander Hotel (Side), which jumped up from eighth, and the Side Prenses which dropped to third from second.
In contrast, the ranking of enquiries by families showed fewer changes. The Primasol Hane Family rose from third to top place, while the Royal Dragon and the Titanic Beach rose up the list to second and third respectively. A new name, the Terrace Beach Resort (Side), topped the couples’ ranking ahead of the Oleander and Side Prenses.
In Spain, the Blau Punta Reina on Majorca jumped to first place ahead of the Gran Camp de Mar (Majorca) and the Lopesan Costa Meloneras. In the family ranking, the Iberostar Club Cala Barca, the Blau Punta Reina and the Garbi Cala Millor were the top three. Once again, couples showed most interest in the SBH Costa Calma, the Lopesan Costa Meloneras and the Hipotels Mediterraneo.
The fvw Hotelometer is a fortnightly ranking of the most popular tourist hotels in Turkey, Spain and Greece, showing customer enquiries but not actual bookings. It is based on all enquiries in the Traveltainment reservations system used by German travel agents and online booking engines. The data, supplied by IT company TrevoTrend, is split into different categories (overall, families, couples, singles and star ratings).
