Trafficking record for culture and green space in Greece, Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center noted, reaching 5.3 million visits in 2018.

Τwo years of operation, SNFCC

In just two years of operation, SNFCC has been recorded as a major destination for entertainment, learning and sports and a top destination for culture in Athens, while at the same time Stavros Niarchos Park is now a major metropolitan park in the capital. In particular, in 2018, SNFCN received 5,300,000 visits, marking an increase of 76% compared to 2017. This increase is also observed in each month of the year separately, compared to 2017 and in cases it exceeds 400%.

Nikos Manolopoulos, CEO of SNFCC, said: “The public rewards the creation of a unique project of culture and environmental sensitivity. The inhabitants of Attica in particular come and return to KSCIN, welcoming the way the project works.

By way of example, in December 2018, the “Christmas World of SNCF” received more than 700,000 visits. This has been helped by the bright installations installed by SNFCC at Stavros Niarchos Park as well as the ice rink on the Canal.

In the same month, a large double survey of adult visitors and an adult general population of Attica, with more than 3,000 respondents, took place.

According to this survey, 93% of Attica residents and 99% of visitors have a positive view of SNFCF, while 91% of the general public (residents of Attica) believe that the Stavros Niarchos Foundation for Culture is an open, accessible a space that upgraded the quality of life of the area and the cultural level of the city, changed the image of Athens and offered a breath of greenery. Regarding the services provided, 87% of visitors believe that SNFCC has the right level of security, 99% has a positive view of the cleanliness level and 90% has a positive view of the level of service.

The survey also showed that one in two adult residents of Attica has already visited SNFCN, while on average each visitor comes 5 times. This repeatability of the visits demonstrates the familiarity of the public with a public space of culture and aesthetics, something that was originally the aim of both the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and the Greek State.

To achieve this, multi-faceted programming has been developed with cultural, educational, environmental, sports and recreational activities for all ages. In 2018, as in 2017, more than 3,000 such actions were organized by the CFIC, thanks to the donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
