Sunweb Group cancels all flights to holiday destinations until 31 March 2020

BUSINESS TOURISM

Due to the global situation of the Coronavirus and the current speed of measures by both local and international authorities, Sunweb Group has decided to cancel all departures to holiday destinations until 31 March 2020 (and until 17 April 2020 for Turkey).

From 1 April 2020 (and from 18 April 2020 for Turkey), all holiday departures remain unchanged until further notice. Of course, Sunweb Group is closely following new developments and government advice.

Sunweb Group travelers currently on holiday

All Sunweb Group travelers who are currently on holiday will fly back on their planned flight dates. There is an exception for destinations that close their borders, as is currently the case in Morocco. Together with local and international authorities and airline partners, Sunweb Group will ensure that these customers are back in their home countries as soon as possible.

Travellers will not lose their money

Sunweb Group is currently informing all affected customers via email, text and telephone that their holiday will be cancelled as a precaution. Travellers will not lose their money: the exact value of the holiday will be credited for use on a future holiday,

Mattijs ten Brink, CEO Sunweb Group, explains: “We are faced with a terrible dilemma. On the one hand, we want our customers to enjoy their much-deserved vacations. However, we also need to be responsible and protect them where we can. Given the latest developments and the accumulation of measures – some very ambiguous and not very well thought through – we have to create clarity for our guests. We can no longer guarantee a carefree stay nor a safe return, and we want to avoid mass evacuations. The safety and well-being of our guests is our number one priority.”
